Sasin director Professor Toemsakdi Krishnamra last week received the official certificate for its EQUIS (Euro-pean Quality Improvement System) accreditation granted by the European Foundation for Management Devel-opment, whose headquarters is in Brussels. Sasin is the first, and so far only, business school in Thailand to earn this accreditation. It follows another international accreditation granted early last year by the US-based Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
Sasin Alumni Association president Narudee Kiengsiri said: "The association collaborates with The Nation Group to host this celebration event titled 'Pinnacle of Sasin's Pride'."
The event will feature a dinner talk and celebration activities. It is scheduled for July 1 from 5pm to 11pm at the Grand Ballroom, Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel, Bangkok. The dinner talk will be conducted in English and open to the public. It is titled "Social Enterprise from Local to Global".
Dr Chirayu Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya, director-general of the Crown Property Bureau, will give the keynote speech on "Sufficiency Economy Policy".
A panel discussion will be held by people with reputations and experience in the areas of social enterprise and corporate social responsibility. They are ML Panadda Diskul, chief development officer of Doi Tung Mae Fah Luang Foundation under Royal Patronage; Noppadol Siwabutr, executive director for corporate affairs of Nestle (Thai); and Dr Riaz Khan, director of Yunus Centre Thailand. This will be moderated by Sasin visiting professor Dr Sankar Sen.
Funds raised from this event will support the development of the Sasin International Learning Centre at Phang Nga, 15 minutes from Phuket International Airport. The facility will provide management education for Thai and international executives.
